Glossary: Temporary Pacing Wire
(TPW) Temporary pacing wires are inserted pre pacemaker treatment as a bridge before the permanent pacemaker is implanted. These wires are connected to an external pacing box which delivers a current to the heart to make it beat normally. TPW is also used to stabilize the Heart Rhythm intermittently after Cardiac Surgery.
